It is not unusual when using remanufactured ink cartridges for your printer to display incorrect ink levels, fortunately there is an easy way to fix the issue.
If your printer is showing low or empty ink levels after installing a remanufactured ink cartridge, follow these steps and you should be printing in no time –
Firstly, remove the cartridges and unplug your printer from the plug socket for at least 30 seconds.
Next, plug the printer back in, switch it on and re-insert the ink cartridges then wait until the error message is displayed.
Now locate the ‘stop’ button on your printer. In some cases the button will not actually say the word ‘stop’, there may instead be an icon featuring a triangle within a circle, such as the image above.
Below are some examples of where you can find the stop button on Canon printers.
Once you have found the stop button, press and hold it for at least 15 seconds. It is best to hold the button and count to fifteen slowly.
This will tell the printer to continue and printing should now carry on as usual. Your printer may still display low or empty ink levels after this process, but you should be able to carry on printing as normal regardless.
It is worth noting that you may have to repeat this process for each new cartridge that you install.
